What
is Pushing the Envelope (PTE) all about?
PTE is targeted at individuals looking to take the next step in
their speech development. The group will provide a forum to develop
fluent speech within the community or through challenging internal
events, such as Humorous Speech & Impromptu Competitions, Dinners/Lunches/Drinks,
Networking Meetings, Festivals, visiting Toastmaster groups, Sports
Days (participant or spectator), or other activities of interest.
The group is fully backed by the Speak Easy Executive
Committee and has been designed to supplement existing Speak Easy
Group meetings in a "transfer task" environment.
The key objectives of the group are fluency
within the community, assisted through the involvement of partners,
friends, work colleagues or family members, and as such you will
be encouraged to bring along somebody to each activity.
What
are the pre-requisites of the group?
- To have completed or are planning to attend an intensive speech
therapy program or course of treatment and to have a positive attitude
towards speech development.
- Financial Membership of the Victorian Speak Easy Association
- Members should be able to self-manage their fluency.
At
what location will the group be hosted & how often?
The activities will be held at different venues throughout Melbourne
& potentially beyond, hence the group will not meet at the same
venue each time. The target meeting frequency is 4 - 6 weeks.
